InnovationKT (Innovation through KinTechnology) is a UK-based non-commercial project that aims to bring information and guidance to the community on aspects of sustainable living.
This site will be a place where we can post articles from academics, practitioners in the field, or knowledgeable members of the community, on practical ways we can live a little more sustainably. I know it is hard and we can't all immediately be as green as we would like, but perhaps we can go some way towards it. We're not going to preach or try to convert you, but will present information and let you make up your own mind.
Kincentricity is a worldview in which humans understand themselves to be part of an extended family of life — not separate from nature, but related to animals, plants, the land, seas and rivers, as relations or kin. This led to the idea of KinTechnology: helping to live in Kinship with the planet using low-carbon Technology to minimise harm to the environment and ecology of the Earth.
The site founder said "Kincentricity is a bit 'touchy-feely' for a scientist like me, but a nice idea, and I had the 'innovationkt' web domain from a previous project, so i thought why not repurpose it".
Hence, InnovationKT - Innovation for KinTechnology was born.
The site founder is an engineer and was for 21 years an academic at a UK university, heading a research group, first on intelligent systems and then on sustainable techology. Since then, he has run a company and has held honorary visiting positions at a number of universities.
